I visited Lumina and worked with Dr Loftin and her staff to address a few different issues that probably many men my age unfortunately have to deal with. For one, I was experiencing symptoms that turned out to be related to low testosterone and also some urinary issues including urinary urgency during the night resulting in middle of the night bathroom trips. Ultimately, after being assessed by Dr Loftin and taking some lab tests, I decided to try Biote hormone pellets as well as the Emsella chair. Dr Loftin is extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions and help me feel comfortable with both therapys.nnI got the Biote hormone pellets first. I was pretty low on testosterone and needed to have a number of the tiny pellets inserted in the fat layers of my bum. The pellets are time release and they use bioidentical hormones which are the safest option. The surgery is outpatient and also quick and painless. Afterwards, I had to wear a bandage for a few days and be careful not to do vigorous lower body exercise for about a week. After that, I could feel a little bump in my bum underneath the skin, but there was no discomfort and I could do whatever exercise I wanted.nnIt's a good thing too, because one of the benefits of the treatment is that it has increased my energy and libido and I have been excelling in my cardio workouts and performing at a level that I had not experienced for years.nnThe biote pellets get a big thumbs up from me and I will definitely be replacing them when they run out in a few more months.nnA few weeks later, I also tried out the Emsella chair and was scheduled to receive 6 treatments. The chair is a really cool device that has a unique treatment for urinary incontinence related issues. The chair uses electro magnetism to stimulate the contraction of pelvic muscles. They say that one 30 minute session is equivalent to doing 11000 kegels. After experiencing it, I totally believe it. The muscle contractions are pretty intense. The staff made sure that the intensity level was comfortable and for me and turned the machine up to 100%. Afterwards, I had immediate results. My urine flow stream started to return to normal levels and after just two treatments, I am back to sleeping through the night consistently and no longer have to be super careful about not drinking fluids in the evening.nnThe emsella chair is revolutionary if you ask me. I love that it is non invasive and that the strengthening of the pelvic muscles is immediate.nnThe staff is amazing and the environment is relaxing and peaceful. I highly recommend Dr Loftin and Lumina for anyone experiencing similar issues.
