Interesting gravesite between Bison and Waukomis, Oklahoma. Story goes that William Rankin died while working for the railroad and his co-workers buried him right next to the tracks he had just laid. His headstone and foot stone are made from railroad tracks. he died 8/8/1888.
Found this grave while running around one time. Wm Rankin died 8-8-1888. Buried right beside the Union Pacific Railroad. Used to be Rock Island Railroad in the past. I don't know who Wm Rankin is. Did he work on the railroad or was he a passenger on the train? Railroad buried him. In fact, on the railroad right of way. If not, just real close then.
