Excellent company to work for when it was under Kobe. First rate, top shelf - the business model of how other companies should treat their employees & customers. Starting pay was exceptional. The absolute best healthcare was provided. Sintas uniforms were given to every employee which consisted of 5 button down long sleeve shirts, five pairs of pants, nice jacket, five short sleeve tees and coveralls, too - all with your name embroidered. Saf-Gard shoe truck came every year and boots were paid for in full no matter if they were $80 or $160, by the company. Matching 401K up to a certain percentage. A registered nurse was there during weekdays and on call 24 hours. Very friendly and fair department managers including Eddie Tucker, Curtis Hicks, Walter Moore, Doug Fouste and Ronnie who was over the company store. Many more, just can’t remember everyone’s name. I was originally hired to run bull block #3 pointer and the job was fairly easy. I was involved in an accident, when I returned to work I was put over the receiving department which I loved. They trained me on heavy equipment as well which I thoroughly enjoyed as well. Cannot say enough good about the experiences I had at this place and God knows, I miss that job so much. Most heavy industrial manufacturing companies and production companies do not do half of the great things that Kobe did and I’m sure it’s only fading away with people being replaced by automated machinery. If I’d only gotten an attorney before I came back to work after my accident, I’d still be there today. I trusted in the system to take care of me (worker’s comp) because I’d did nothing wrong. No violation of LOTO was committed, I wasn’t under the influence of drugs nor alcohol. Anyway - I still love and miss those people I met over the course of 5 year’s. Watching a new documentary on HBO about 9/11 is what brought about these memories. I was in the receiving office above the break room when a truck driver walked in with the sad news of what happened in NY. I won’t ever forget that or the job either!!

You can park overnight. The scale is a bit short so have your tandems as far fwd as you can. They unload pretty fast once they get started.

Fairly easy place to find. When you get there stop your truck before the crosswalk and talk to the guard with the speaker box located on the old guardhouse. After that, go around back and pull up on the scale, most likely will have to be tandems all the way forward to fit in their small scale. Use CB channel 2 to talk to shipping. Then go in and talk to shipping. After getting a door, if you are in a van, count on being there at least 2 - 3 hours. Possibly more. Once done, pull back on the scale and talk to shipping again. Pull off if you want or just sit in scale and go in for paperwork. On the way out, stop and talk to guard again but this time give them the gate pass code. They do have facilities you can use. The people were nice but loading is really slow. You can park in their driveway outside the fence if you need to.

You have to deal with a grumpy security guard going in and out. Drop trailer on scale go inside hook back up and then deliver which was fairly quick. Then drop trailer again on scale and go inside. Point being a lot of jacking around to deliver 10 skids. This place is in the middle of nowhere, no easy route
