BUYER BEWARE!! I am a retired Marine Colonel who contracted with 1-800-pack-rat to pick up my son’s (recently discharged Marine) personal effects that had been stored at our home in NC to be shipped to his home in KY. We paid an extra $600 for expedited delivery with RDD of 20 March. The container never arrived on the 20th of March. They told me the date was changed to the 23d and they failed to notify me. The 23d came and I called to get some time frame to expect the container drop off. The woman told me it was out for delivery; the 3d of 3 containers to be delivered that day, and that it should be between 1:30 and 3pm. It never came. After asking to talk to a supervisor’s supervisor I was told “we’re very sorry but it appears the container never left Wallace NC” (!!) and that they “had no idea when it would be picked up in Wallace, but that they hoped to get it out to KY by Tuesday (tomorrow). It is now Monday the 29th and no one is taking my call......I left a message after 55 minutes on hold. Stay away from this business.

Warning, do not use this company. I signed a contract for out of state move from NY to NC. I am still in the process of getting my container delivered. Two promised delivery dates and my container hasn't left NY. I have zero confidence in this company, they breached my contract multiple times and wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

The whole experience with PACK RAT has been a disaster. I set up an account on 11/5/2020 and confirmed my move that day. The first mistake was the date the empty container was to be delivered. It was scheduled for 11/16/2020. I did not receive the container until 11/23/2020. I requested pick up of my container on 11/28/2020. Container was not picked up and delivered to the new address until 12/5/2020. This move cost me 5 days of work, plus the moving, delivery, storage fees. The driver who delivered to the house was helpful and kind. He was the only shining star from this bunch.

This company is HORRIBLE. I used them about 1- 1/2 yrs ago and still no response to the damage they did to my patio. A paper was filled with claims and still no response today. It's been calls after calls and just passing the one extension and message Left each time. They are the worst company to deal with..LOOK ELSEWHERE FOLKS. MRS.SPIVEY,. WILMINGTON,N.C.

Davis bought a container out to my house and it was brand new construction. Dropped the container on the edge of my driveway broke the concrete now Jeff Hatcher of Wallace, NC won't even come out to look at it. Corporate can't help because its a franchise. Franchise handle their own claims. I will never use them again and I recommend you don't either. Im filing the better business bureau and my home owners is gonna subrogate.nnVanceboro NC
