Galvez Primary School

I'm unsure if nostalgia or the former staff made this place great for me as a student, but either way things have definitely changed for the worst.

Had two kids go through Galvez primary (one now in middle school and one in 5th) and absolutely love everyone there. My kids have adored every teacher they have had and me being active in the pto have had so much help from all the staff. Its a smaller School and they make you feel like family!

I would never Recommend anyone bringing their child to Galvez primary! In April a substitute didn't know what time to bring the kids to the bus to go home so the whole class was left at school. Two weeks ago my daughter had a trouble going to the restroom, she went to go poop before she got on the bus to go home and it started burning a little bit, (sometimes that's completely normal) My daughter's teacher brought my daughter to the front office and the principal told the teacher to take my son off the bus. So my son was taken off the bus and the bus's left to go bring all the other students home. The front office called me and told me to come pick up my children because they were taken off the bus without my permission. Today I got a call from the front office again. I answered it and The lady that works at the front desk told me that I need to come pick up my children because my daughter was throwing up and my son stomach was hurting and I told her my son was perfectly fine all he needs to do is go use the restroom. The lady at the front desk started arguing with me and told me that I need to come pick up my children in 30 minutes or else. I told the lady at the front desk that I cannot make it in 30 minutes my car is in the shop and my husband works 45 minutes away from the school, The lady had a bad attitude and told me you need to come pick up your kids as soon as possible and then hung up on me. Soon as I got to school I checked out my kids and I asked for a paper that said they cannot return to school for 24 hours the lady at the front desk did not want to give it to me at all. I Told her that I talked to Ascension Parish school Board and they told me that I needed to have that paper stating that my kid are not allowed at school for 24 hours. She still refused to give it to me until another lady jumped in and told her to go get the paper. Whenever I left the school I called Ascension Parish school Board and told them everything that's going on and told them that somebody needs to step up and do something about galvez primary and their employees. The lady that works for the school board told me that the woman at the front desk should've never told me that I needed to be there in 30 minutes or else... she also told me that my Son should have never been taken off the bus without my permission they should have gotten on the bus and went home. I've had so many problems with this school that I am moving because they are so disrespectful and not doing what their supposed to do also the teachers are terrible, Half of them shouldn't be teaching at all. They dont even know how to handle young children.

Used to go there its realllyyyy good but now i go to GALVEZ MIDDLE its also realllyyyy good.

Well overall we had flood recently and it set them back a lot my kids are repeating there grade because of the set back and we all have bad days I'm sure the front desk lady was on her toes all day and if u read the hand book given to all parents at beginn of school it clearly states if ur child throws up or runny stool the can't not return for 24 may I say 24hours clear free then return to school I love Galvez primary
