One of the most historically relevant cemeteries in Richmond. This is the final resting place of John Marshall, chief architect of the powerful system of federal courts.
A really interesting historic cemetery, it was the first public cemetery built by the city in late 18th century. There are many important Richmond natives buried here, as well as many Revolutionary War veterans. Its in somewhat of a sketchy neighborhood but don't let that stop you no one will bother you. It's still owned by the city and they don't do a good job up-keeping the place though; there are some grave markers that have fallen down.
Good place to learn about history but bad neighborhood.....Trash outside around the cemetery....City needs to do something about that.....
