Sent in an online order request about 2 weeks ago and never heard anything. No email or call. All of my information was sent in. Not sure if they were busy and were unable to do it or are having trouble responding back? I would have at least liked a response whether they could do it or not. I was trying to order a cake for my son's first birthday from here due to the great reviews. Unfortunately, due to the circumstance I won't be able to give a good review.

Love love love it!!! I absolutely loved the way they got my custom order! I had specific ideas about not having a typical pink birthday cake for my daughter. I ordered a chocolate cake with strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream icing. It was delicious!nnRachel and Juliana their customer service representatives were absolutely delightful, they were patient and friendly in handling my request over the phone. And hats off to Michelle, the baker- am assuming it’s Michelle, since she was handling my emails.nnHighly recommend Pearl Bake Shoppe!

I am leaving a 1 star review due to the customer service. I placed an order a week in advance for my dads 60th birthday and when asked what time I'd like to pick up my order I said the earliest time possible (as I had a hard time that I needed to leave by in order to make it from Richmond to VA Beach by 12:30pm. I was told 10:30am. That week the weather was very up and down due to snow and rain. Since I had NOT received a phone call the day prior to my pick up date I assumed everything was fine. I received a phone from the bakery at 9:30am to move my pick up time from 10:30am to 12:00pm. I made it very clear that time would not work and I needed to pick up at 10:30am. I was told they would try their best. Well their best was 11:20am. I understand the weather may shift things and timelines but to call someone an hour before the pick up date for a $100 order is absolutely unacceptable and I am not pleased with this establishment. Due to their lack of communication in a timely manner I arrived to my event late after 2 weeks of planning. The actually quality of the cupcakes were great but the customer service was not. I may try this establishment one more time but I hope they do better.

customer service can go a long way with me; absolutely HORRIBLE here at Pearl’s Bake Shoppe. requested online a custom cake to hear back nothing. went to the store & was instructed that i couldn’t even a request an order until 7 days out of the event. 7 days came & went, i never heard anything. i called, emailed, had to finally go up to the store for an apology and for them to finally take my order. you bet i had to pay full price too. the cake turned out full of icing & the decoration looks like a little kid did it. i’m sorry, but there are PLENTY other places i can take my business. Pearls, YOURE OUT.

Disappointed. We have been long time customers however the last custom bday cake I ordered for my wife was horrible! It was over baked and very dry. I attempted to call and speak to a manager about my poor experience however my call was never returned. We will go elsewhere in the future. #goingdownhill #drycake
