George Mason University Police and Safety Headquarters

Response time is horrible, staff in the campus police building are rude. My battery died on my car so I could not use my keyfab to get in (there’s a short somewhere in the electrical, and there’s no key tumblr for the door). The nonemergency dispatcher kept me on hold for 30min before telling me they couldn’t help, and that I should expect these problems when I can’t afford a new car. For the amount of tuition that I pay a year, I’d expect this police department to help me unlock my car, like every other police department in the US would.

SECOND WORSE DEPARTMENT NEXT TO THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE. A year ago, my crazy dad tried to confront me and my boyfriend when we both came back on campus and even got into the dorm building to try and convince me to get out of there. He owned a gun as far as I knew so I was scared and didn't want to leave my dorm room, but really he was nothing more than a nuisance. Well, then comes the police officer, who went to everyone involved to get some info on the incident. Once school ended, I had to find a way to convince the financial aid office that I wasn't going to be able afford next year (spoiler alert: of course they didn't help out) and that meant getting a police report and other sorts of proof of estrangement from my parents, according to my financial aid advisor. Well, I tried getting a letter off of officer Rorke and some other officer that was involved in the whole thing, yet Rorke couldn't b/c he was out of town and the other one just flat out didn't respond. I then had to get a police report that was worth $5, and it had almost NOTHING to show that the whole thing happened. It was like Rorke didn't even BOTHER to write it down! I lost total faith and respect in cops and other law enforcers since then. I'm writing this now because now I've graduated and just want to make one thing clear: NONE OF THESE OFFICERS ARE HELPFUL! I know I have a personal beef with the ones at GMU, but I now refuse to get help from any officer ever again, and would rather die and probably will die before a cop gets a chance to help me out anyways.

Deserve 0 stars. Will do anything to meet their quota or whatever they get for hounding people with ridiculous tickets. Worst police ever I got into a car accident in front of campus they were absolutely no help. My air bags deployed did not offer me any assistance instead they gave me a reckless driving general ticket while I could not even remember what was going on. They also ended up keeping my license by accident and the cop (dont know his name was Asian started with a v) left his office for the weekend so I got no response until Tuesday from him telling me to come get the papers for the ticket which i already had I needed my license. I understand that you have to give me a ticket but atleast let a person come to their senses first.
