While visiting my cousins in Portsmouth. I expressed my interest in finding my great grandparents graves. Their daughter was our grandmother and a sad thing happened when she died after having my father. So our family missed out on an important person. We arrived at the cemetery and a young man asked if we needed assistance. He took the time to look up the information and directed us to the gravesite. Only William H Fowler had a headstone for which I was so grateful to find. But low and behold next couple graves over were the graves of my 2nd great grands and W H Fowler in laws. Thank you for taking such good care of my family.
Gorgeous cemetery with lots of Victorian influence throughout as well as beautiful trees and wildlife.
Greenlawn cemetery is the most endearing and enduring places of rest I have ever celebrated. The grounds are well taken care , and the events held here are logistically well planned and executed (pun intended). Specifically, the Memorial Day Event and the 4th of July are my favorites. The grounds are mostly flat with some raised portions to differentiate between families' plots. My favorite parts of the Greenlawn Cemetery are the enormous mausoleums. If your lucky enough to be there on the one annual day the mausoleums are open, do not miss the opportunity.
I like to walk in the cemetery.
