Hemstrought's Bakeries

Fantastic breads, a nice specialty cheese selection, great croissants, and if you are lucky enough to get one of their soft pretzels, do not hesitate. Excellent stop, but get there early! They sell out of many of their items by noon or earlier.

Drove to Utica (from Syracuse) to not only visit the city’s zoo, but to stop to buy the half moon cookies at Hemstrought Bakery. The cookies are absolutely delicious! The best I’ve had and would definitely recommend. The Tomato Pie looked so good that I couldn’t resist buying a few slices to take home for dinner. It was the best I’ve ever had and sorry that I didn’t buy more. But, that gives me the best reason to return to Hemstrought Bakery!

Half-Moon cookies are just like I remember growing up. The Best!! Oatmeal raisin cookies are also best I've tasted. Thank you Isabella for being so nice. I'll return on a weekend some day for fried cakes. My Grandfather, Harry B. Hemstrought, would be so happy.
