(PrismSound's) Imerge products (and all OEM rebrands such as Elan, Niles, SpeakerCraft, Integra, etc) despite being in general of excellent build and output quality, suffer dearly from very shortsighted programming and design that largely self defeats the whole purpose, and meaning, of a hard-drive music/media server. With some of the OEM rebrands, most notably Elan, that only made some of those shortsighted shortcomings worse (but that's typical with Elan). Unfortunately it's not until after you've owned a unit for awhile and loaded it up with media, that you discover a rather surprising long list of shortcomings - many of which have simple fixes that could have easily been corrected through firmware update(s). Thus your high-end and expensive piece of gear became a rather disappointing one, but by that point it's too far gone to be able to do much if anything about it. The final death blow came shortly after the transition from Core Brands/Nortek to PrismSound, when they decided to discontinue Gracenote for all but the current models. Effectively turning all the older models into bricks, because no one has the time to, and certainly nobody wants to, sit there and manually enter metadata - ever. Needless to say the disdain this created flooded the used AV market with the older models at very cheap prices, and turned away most from ever considering an Imerge product again. (PrismSound's) Imerge still makes an overall excellent hardware product, but highly doubtful they'll ever get a handle on the shortsighted mentality that will most likely forever plague their product lineup. But it's hard to imagine they'd be around for much longer.

You advertise a 3 year warranty , on Maselec gear then just pretend that it is not really there. I see Prism Sound your parent company is setting a new standard in the pro audio industry by allowing all of this.
