Scandinavian Baking

So happy to have found this wonderful bakery in Chocorua. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon to pick up the renowned almond cake for Easter, and we couldn't resist getting some cookies to go in the meantime. We enjoyed chatting with Betty while she wrapped up our cake so nicely in a study box and with colorful strings (Swedish flag colors). She was so fun to talk with and you can easily see how proud of her bakery and goodies she is- and rightfully so! The hazelnut cookies and german chocolate bars were especially noteworthy. Betty even offered us tea and coffee on the house, in Swedish tradition, which was so sweet. This will be a must-stop place for us when we come up north. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality, Betty, we will see you again soon!

Got a delicious Cardamom Coffee Cake while enjoying a weekend away in Chocorua. This super cute bakery comes with a super friendly baker who loves sharing the story of her little store. The cake was not too sweet and had the perfect amount of flavor. I'll make a point to stop here to grab a delicious trail treat the next time I drive up to the area for a hike.

I always enjoy my visits with Betty when passing through town. She puts a lot of love into her baking and makes the world's best applesauce raisin muffins!

Betty is a gem. Stopped in to this shop after first discovering it on google and then driving by as we were out exploring. Got a braided loaf with raisins and cardamom, topped with almond slivers, a cannoli cookie, and of course swedish fish. Betty was extremely welcoming and great to chat with. Coffee and tea are complimentary. Definitely worth a stop in if you're in the area!!
