Been here since May of 2019 and i haven't had any real problems with the company... sometimes it the shipper and recieving.. but over all it's laid back.. local driver

My son works there & the people are so nice.

Pros:n*Great equipment (trucks only)n*Flexible schedule (for example if you have doctor appointments etc)n*Local work for drivers that want to be home every night.n*Payroll department is rock solid + weekly payn*Pets are allowed with a depositn*Health, dental, visual, and 401k offered (after 90 days)n*Fuel is payed by the company (ComData) only at Flying-J and Pilotn*Shop staff do a excellent job.nnCons:n*Awful dispatch (get ready to hand hold on 1/4 of your loads)n*90% or more of their freight is broker; so get ready to make a lot of phone calls & headaches.n*Get ready to break HOS if you want to make money. (They will say they you don't need to; but it becomes a different story when you get out on the road and experienced drivers will know what I'm talking about)n*They don't pay for clean DOT inspections.n*They don't pay for truck washes.n*Detention pay starts after 3 hours (not 2 like most company's)n*High Turnover RatennI mostly enjoyed my time at this company, but make sure you are 100% ready for the bull that happens behind the curtains. I will be completely transparent; I was let go due to me being late on few loads. I was dealing with a lot on the personal side of things in my life but did they are about that? No, instead I was treated like a number and not a person. But I guess no matter how big or small the company you will always be a number and not a person. Over 5 years of driving and I must say the trucking industry is crap and isn't worth it. My keys have been hung up and I won't be driving a semi anymore. Compared to this company you are better off working a warehouse job if you are making 13-14 dollars a hour and working at least 40 hours a week.nnTo my former fellow drivers I wish you the best if you drive for Carnes.
