Saint Athanasius Cemetery

An update to my last post, the sign was fixed. Thanks to Stockings funeral home for fixing the sign mentioned below. However we are still restricted from laying down decorative rock within the stone border of the site, which other sites clearly have. This seems to be a bit discriminate. We would like to do this in order to keep the grave more maintenance friendly since we live so far away. The site looks better now so I upgraded my review another star.nnI am Active Duty military and my wife's family pays for perpetual care at this Church's cemetary. However, since they were upsold on a vault box for the underground grave that places a square ground level cement box around the grave the contracted maintenance crew refuse to moe it saying it constitutes a garden box and is hazardous to their equipment. My wife and I finally make it home to visit after years of being stationed all over and find the grave in shambles. The grass and weeds we're knee high and his veterans plaque was literally falling off the back of his head stone (they did fix that but who knows how long it would have went if we hadn't called). I can't imagine how it might have looked after another six to twelve months. So we want to fix it of course. We saw that there are many other graves with the same exact tomb set up and they have mulch, or decrative stone over so that it does not get so over grown. Upon contacting the Church with our intentions they state it is against the rules to do any of that. But it appears these other graves have been like that for many years. Joanne, the rep
