Waldheim Cemetery Co.

I visited the cemetery on 29.September.2020. I found it to be in a serious state of disrepair and neglect. On several of my relatives stones (step grandmother, her sister, and nephew), the grass clippings were caked on so thick that I needed the ice scraper from my car just to cut through it. Another relative, the stone was completely covered with clippings and needed to be dug out to be seen. Two rows from my paternal grandfather's grave, a dead tree had fallen over and toppled a number of gravestones. It had clearly been there for a very long time as seen by the rotted sheddings on the ground, outlining the fallen tree. Next to my grandfather's grave was one 30 foot dead tree leaning precariously against another nearly dead tree. As I looked around, about 20% of the standing trees were dead. Most for a long time as they had no bark and missing limbs. It is a safety hazard as well as an embarrassing eyesore of neglect. A large stone marker with the name of the social group has the pillars still up, but the cross piece on the ground, and partially buried.nAbout 5% of grave stones in the cemetery in general were dislodged or toppled. I saw a number that were not only toppled, but sheered and completely broken. The internal roadway had major potholes. Near my maternal grandparents there were monuments shifted off of their bases. At my parents graves, much grass debris needed to be removed. It is clear to me that it is not hoodlums desecrating the cemetery, but the total neglect and disrespect of the caretaking organization. Shame on them. The only reason why I have given one star is that there is no negative number option. Clearly those in charge are derelict of a sacred duty.

There are some really beautiful graves here, but the cemetery overall could really use some TLC. Many gravestones are knocked over. Grounds do not look well kept. Feel sad for the families of people who have gravesites here that are in ruin.

The office is difficult to work with. They sometimes send erroneous bills. Upkeep of the graves is poor.

My Great Grandparents are buried there and my Great Uncle and Aunt .
