We were very pleased with our Fairmount Willow Hills experience. Lazar helped us find a plot to purchase just feet from our relatives. Today we buried the ashes. We didn't expect the headstone would be installed but it was. I feel they made a special effort to install it before the funeral. Everyone at Fairmount Willow Hills is very helpful and pleasant.
Prior to Fairmount Cemetery I went to Beverly and Resurrection cemeteries. I placed decorations on relative's graves. Entering Fairmount Cemetery I was met by a sign stating no decoration's can be displayed without first purchasing a removal tag. Driving thru there were no decoration's on the graves.nWill the owner please explain the purpose of paying a fee.
Ron - IF I may translate the cemetery response: hich has been in effect for several decades, relates to the majority of cases in which people place wreaths and then leave it to Fairmount to pick them up once the decorations have become unsightly. The removal tag fee helps to cover recovery and disposal costs and is included in the price of our beautiful holiday wreaths.nnThis is just a means of generating an income stream for them by forcing you to buy the tag or entire wreath - even if you do pick up your own wreath by Jan 15th. They will came and at random remove what wreaths they believe do not have tags. Wreaths on my family's graves were removed since the 13th when they were placed out. We pick ours up by Jan 15th. (They are artificial and due to the cost refreshed and reused.) jBut others in the area without any tags and not cemetery bought are still there. Also the rules are not enforced all the time for everyone. In the summer you find beer bottles sitting on head stones for weeks at a time. At least one grave have been burning a glass and metal kerosene lantern for a year now. Also the rule for imposing the tag fee is not consistent either.nnThe cemetery does not take as good of care of the grounds as they want you to believe. In the summer they constantly scalp the lawn because they are too lazy to raise the mower deck. The flat headstones have been hit and chipped by the mower blades as the desk is too low.. Trash barrels are not emptied on a regular basis, the water hydrants are a hit or miss if they are working that week or not.nnThe wreath money making scheme is the same as the headstones. They charge so much others to install and have so many rules and requirements the local businesses that make the memorials will not deal with them. Your forced to go through the cemetery. Plus the headstone are not put in with any foundation or base, just the sod is cut the 3 to 4 inches for the depth of the headstone and it is dropped in the opening. No concrete or stone base which is way you see so many sinking into the ground.nnYes a beautiful location, and office staff is friendly, but the grounds crew could use improvement.
Disgrace of a business! Playing with peoples emotions at their most venerable time. They told me that I can make extensive burial accommodations after I get some time to plan my sons monument. Now they tell me that for me to accomplish that I need to buy 4 lots and my son would have to be moved in a different location from his final resting place!Buyer beware, they tell you that you don’t have to make decisions when your the most vulnerable only to tell you later what’s allowed and what’s not allowed. Leaving you only with an empty feeling of pain and suffering! Shame on the managment!nThey denied my request to speak to an owner!
when you lost your 26 years old son your life changed forever work with this guy's and they will show you what real pain and suffer is
