On August 13, 2020 My Wife and I purchased burial crypts at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The purchase included 3 crypt plates. Total cost was $12,760. The contract started on August 13, 2020 with a down payment of $4000. This contract was paid in full on September 18, 2020. Today’s date is December 4, 2020. We have seen rough drafts for these crypt plates from Forest Lawn. But nothing from Matthew’s Cemetery Products. They are the company making the crypt plates. Drawings have to be final before they can be made. Once proofs are approved, than we are probably talking 4 to 5 months before they are manufactured. Before I started this process, I should have read all these reviews. I would have NEVER started this. I even suggested issuing a refund just for the plates, and hire a local company to make and install the plates. Our crypts are in the Chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. I am a Retired Veteran and if I were dead my Children would be fighting this battle. I am disappointed that My Wife and I are having to go through this. It’s sad that. We have worked hard all our lives and this is what we are dealing with. If you decide to do this, good luck you will definitely need it. I have sent 20 emails to District Manger, Regional Manger, they are concerned, but nothing yet. Someone have any suggestions?nnSincerely,nnTammy, and David Morrison

Several members of our family are interred at Forest Lawn, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. I only give one star because you don't have a zero option. I will not carry on this tradition. Our mom passed in 1999 and dad passed in 2008. When dad passed we bought a vase and requested that it be placed between their markers. It was actually placed in the center of one of the plots. We stopped and told staff that it was in the wrong place, that we wanted it between the two markers. Next time we went out, it was half way down, between the two plots, not between the markers, we decided to accept that, at least we could leave flowers. Over a year ago when I went to visit, the vase was gone. Whether it was stolen or damaged by ground crew, we will never know. I reported the missing vase to a staff member who said she would report it to management. The next visit, no vase, stopped at the office and there was no record anywhere of the incident report. I was told that it would be looked into. Next visit, no vase, was told that if there was one in storage, it would be installed but if they had to order one it would be several weeks and that she would text me a photo of it when it was installed. Still no vase. I took flowers out on November 8, 2020 to honor mom's birthday on the 9th, still no vase. Fortunately, I always take a bottle of water for the flowers, so, I cut the top off the bottle and put it in the hole intended for the vase. The flowers show just a little above ground level(should have left the leaves in the bottom). My point is this: If they are not responsible for replacing the vase and have no intention of doing so, why the runaround, why not just tell me so we can decide whether we want to replace the vase or just leave it as it is? At this point, I have decided that what will be will be, and this will not be my final resting place.

My father is entombed at the mausoleum there at forest lawn and approximately 3 1/2 months ago upon visiting the site I discovered which has turned out to be leaking body fluid two spots down from him. After going to the office and bringing someone there I was told that there had been someone recently buried there two weeks prior. They would clean it up. One attempt had been made and it smells foul and the leaking is still going on and is way worse. We are now working with the city among others to correct this situation. I am condensing this mess the best I can and I want this fixed and fixed properly .

My family has been here since 1974 . We always stop in to put flowers with our dearly departed. Several years ago, after a bad storm, we though my grandmothers plaque had been destroyed, the main office was more than helpful in fixing and finding the missing plaque. Hours listed on the website are not always the same as in person. (we stop in at odd times when traveling) Still a very lovely place my great aunt and uncle decided on. My grandparents also loved it too. I hope that the work on the main office is completed soon, and that an arborists is able to come save the dying trees.

From the start, we have very much so had issues with Forest Lawn. They started off in 2014 when they tore things off of my brother’s grave and put them in the dumpster without any heads up. Thinking this would be a BEAUTIFUL place to let my brother lay at rest, we were wrong. After clearing that situation, we are here after many visits, but 6 years later they do not know how to mow their lawn. It’s disrespectful & horrific. Please, if you’re considering burying a loved one here, reconsider. Tomorrow is Easter Sunday and I feel for anyone who is going to coming visit in this condition. As we are going through a horrible time in society right now, workers should be doing something nice for their community, not ruining it.
