I can only attest to my experience as a OTR driver back in 1999. Have things changed there? NO! I was training a driver who had been on a few trips, wasn’t a very promising prospect throughout training, many issues. My trainee was instructed to wake me at a predetermined location so that I could supervise him from the interstate into town , to our drop. The trainee failed to follow instructions and decided that he didn’t need me and tried to navigate the course himself. This ended in me being violently awakened as he tore the entire side out of our trailer on the corner of the building. East/West tried to make ME responsible for HIS direct disobedience of the instructions. East/West tried to con me into paying for the damage which I refused , naturally! Then I was threatened by Tom Liner that East /West would ruin my D.A.C. Report if I didn’t pay for the damage that my trainee did. I informed him instantly that if I see that on my D.A.C. I would file suit. And with some colorful language, I quit , in good fashion. Now... fast forward to 2011. My fiancé wanted to learn to drive and get a CDL and run with me. She wanted to go through the East/West school against all my efforts to persuade her not to. East /West can be attractive to someone wanting to get in the business The school and CDL is covered by East/West but you are under contract to work for them for a year... I think it is. Anyways, She decided to go to East West . I knew what would happen... and it did. They are extremely sexist. They treated her awful. They made fun of her and stressed her so bad that she never went back after a week. I have been through there “training” program and it’s a joke. Very little instruction , grumpy old crabby trainer. I know of many many other dirty deals they have dealt to my co-workers. MANY! One that I will speak of that I saw happen to my co-driver. He happened to be a felon. He was a great person and one of the best people I ever met. We pulled thousands of miles together, Great Guy still ! After 20+ years now since then. Well , East/West would use his felony to make him do extra work . We came in from California and dropped our trailer. He was instructed to call in, where Tom Liner told him he would have to go do a live load that night! We were totally out of hours to drive. He was supposed to be on home time. When he told Tom he wouldn’t do it because he did not have the hours to legally drive, Tom Liner reminded him of his felony, and the fact that hardly any company would hire him. So he ran it! I heard all this go down with my own ears sitting right there in the truck. They are reprehensible! Use them for a CDL and quit. You’ll have to settle up for the school however, unless you have bad credit anyways then it doesn’t matter. Heed my warning! These people are crooks, and mobsters.

Send your drivers to driving school and next time will send dashcam video to local police

I have my class a learners permit i drive a dump truck i tried to get with swift and pam but i have felonies is that going to be a problem

East west refused to pay me because they claim my lead co-driver didn't turn in the paperwork from our trip. It was my first and only trip with the company. Then they smear my hire right saying that I abandoned the truck with keys and paperwork in truck. Thanks East west for the experience.
