Tom the baker is always willing to accommodate any special Birthday cake request. And his Stromboli’s (served on Thursday afternoon only) are a family favorite. We just call ahead with our order and they are ready for pick up at our appointed time.

The only thing more amazing than the delicious creations the owner makes is that more people are not flocking to this fabulous bakery.nnWhile travelling through Scandinavia last Sunday we decided to look for a coffee shop. This unlikely name for a coffee shop was intriguing. The place is quaint with fishing paraphernalia and woodsy décor.nnThe owner and baker, Tom, is an avid trout fisherman. He is also very fond a book by the same title, The Trout Bum, which is where the name derives. He is friendly and happily will discuss his wares, his life, and I would assume any topic you choose. In the short time I was there I learned he has always loved baking and fishing, he worked for several years on Captiva and Sanibel Islands in Florida, and came to Wisconsin to open his own place. Providence has smiled upon us by bringing him here.nnTom's creations are innovative and delicious. We dined on a crab quiche that was light and fluffy as well as a hearty bacon and spinach quiche. The coffee that accompanied the delectable breakfast was above average and I wonder if not diminished by comparison to the baked goods. As we finished a fresh batch of the most amazing oatmeal cookies came out of the oven. Too full to consume on-site we took two to go, serving as a blissful reminder of our time at the Trout Bum.nnIf you go, go early. You do not want to miss out on the quiche. While you are there, relax and bum around a little while. You may even see us there.

Delicious home made baked goods. Cookies, cinnamon rolls, danishes, even quiches. All fantastic, all not very expensive. They also sell some rather good coffee.
