Visited the gravesite of the father of my favorite Spiritual Speaker, Dr Wayne Dyer. I’ve learned of this gravesite many years ago and I was very happy to finally visit his gravesite today and pay my respects.

It was always my understanding, years ago, this was an upscale cemetery. You certainly couldn’t say that today. I am sure people that signed up many years ago didn’t expect to see the condition the cemetery is in. A simple paint job on the side of the buildings could easily be a priority. The roadway throughout the cemetery is in need of repair and extremely narrow. There is no gate to the cemetery. It’s a nondescript sand covered little piece of blacktop road to enter.nIn real estate terms this would be a “fixer-upper “I hope no one is paying premium prices for the slots or place of Inurement or Interment.nDisgraceful borderline disrespectful.

My 98 year old mother pre-planned and pre-paid for her funeral in 1990. The cost, which was paid in full, included opening and closing the niche for her cremated remains. My father's ashes are already placed there. The company which now owns the cemetery refused to honor that agreement, and has charged $700 to simply open the niche and close it back up. I would say that this goes beyond being immoral and unscrupulous! My mother died thinking that she had paid for her funeral in full so that her family would not be burdened with expenses. This is certainly taking advantage of grieving families who have no choice but to pay this amount! I don't know how these people can sleep at night!

It is very sobering to walk through the properties that were totally leveled by the hurricane and so amazing to see the number of trees that survived the devastation.
