I've been coming to The Horn Section for years, buying my younger sister reeds or taking her clarinet for maintenance, and I've always had a decent experience. Occasionally, some of the staff are grumpier than usual, but it's okay since everybody has a not good day occasionally, and I'll blame it on Tiki the dog not being there for emotional support. Anyway, fast service and quick repair turnarounds! While kids can make fun of other kids for having loaner instruments while their instruments are out for repairs, I'm thankful that they are at least given a loaner so they do not have to sit out in class and miss hands on instructional time with their instruments.

I went to the Horn Section because it is the only shop in town that deals with clarinets in our area. I dealt with a gentleman who patiently answered all of my questions. The prices seemed high to purchase a new clarinet so I told the gentleman that I will need to discuss with my husband. After speaking with my husband, we figured that the extra money can be made up with the customer service the gentleman had displayed while I was there. We decided to go back together to the Horn Section later in the week and there was a woman working the counter. She seemed very rude and short to the customers in front of us, unfortunately we did not see the gentleman who helped me so we decided to leave because we just did not feel comfortable with her investing over $1000 on an instrument and having to deal with her. We spoke to the band director at school about our experienced and we were shocked to hear him tell us he knew exactly who we were talking about. We decided to order from a company online and saved money. **UPDATE TO YOUR RESPONSE** We agree the perks of purchasing from the Horn Section sound great and it would also help local business but not at the expense of what we overheard and witnessed while we were at the store. I would rather not deal with someone who speaks to people in that manner.

I've purchased 3 saxophones from the Horn Section and I've ordered a 4th.nTheir prices have always extremely reasonable and the service department is excellent. They've even helped me do an emergency repair over the phone.nStaff is very friendly and competent.

Oh man, I picked up a ProTec trumpet gig bag. It's so nice to be able to see and feel it before buying. Leaving for Los Angeles Sunday and can't wait to try it out.
