Update: I don't want politics injected into my donut, but stating that staff can choose which health mandates to follow does just that. I'll find a donut somewhere else.nnOriginal: Not one person wearing even a cloth mask. It's simple and shows community responsibility. Very disappointed. No attempts of social distancing being practiced. Also, the person taking cash payments (Hankerson's only does cash) switches to grabbing bakery items without gloves or hand washing. I won't be back until they step it up and show some responsibility.
Once a month i pick up a three dozen doughnuts for software release Friday. The office consists of folks from all over southeastern Wisconsin and many have asked about the bakery which says something about the quality. On the rare occasion my schedule conflicts there is clear disappointment in the office. I've had their carry out ham and rolls on Sunday which is great. Their buns and rolls are excellent for picnic food whenever the moment arises. Excellent when grocery store staples do not satisfy.
Customer service was lacking. The lady helping us was rude and made us feel rushed even though there were 4 people behind the counter and 5 clients total. My wife and I felt like the lady helping us just wanted us out of there. Donuts did not taste fresh; they were already starting to harden on the outside even though it was only 8 am; were they from the day before? Donuts are better at Piggly Wiggly or Pick N Save. Not impressed in any regards and won't be returning.
Two of the women behind the counter did not wear masks. I have not been in such a disrespectful unsafe business in months! If I had not ordered pies, I would have left immediately. The two unmasked women were also so rude it was appalling. The pies are very small and do not look good, either. Such a disappointment! I will never go back!
We've enjoyed the bakery for years and finally stopped in to the restaurant for breakfast. It was a delicious, with all the traditional menu items. Large portions, fresh, hot & fast.nBakery is a treasure. Donuts, breads, cookies & cakes...you can't go wrong here.
