My daughter took voice lessons from Rawson. When we moved, she wanted us to drive an hour each way to keep taking lessons. 🙂 I wish we could because the positive impact it had on my daughter is immeasurable. Her confidence and vocal skills increased dramatically. Not only does Rawson know what he's doing as a musician, he is also a skilled teacher. We're still looking for a local to us teacher who is as knowledgeable, patient, skilled in teaching methods, and just all around as awesome as Rawson.
I had the pleasure of working with Rawson for several years during the time I served as music director at a local church in Layton. Our music ministry was short on piano accompanists and a neighbor of mine referred me to Rawson. Based solely on his ability to play piano, I hired him on the spot as a regular accompanist at one of our services, but we got so much more than an accompanist. With Rawson we had the rare good fortune to have hired a professional musician with degrees in music and education. Soon he was leading vocal clinics for our various choirs and teaching our youth piano lessons in hope that eventually we could train up some accompanists of our own. Rawson is generous with his talents and has a way of inspiring people of all ages to become better musicians.
Rawson is a brilliant pianist and talented musician. My daughters learned a great deal from him. He is one of the few teachers in the area who can challenge advanced piano students. He helped prepare my daughter for university level piano courses. If you recognize a serious pianist in your child, Rawson can lead him/her to the next level.
Rawson is an extremely skilled musician both in voice and piano. His style, interpretation, and understanding of the musical qualities of a piece and his ability to both perform and relay this through his teaching skills is remarkable. He also has a patient and happy personality--a plus for any music instructor. I highly recommend Rawson!
I have been taking lessons from Rawson for 2 years. Moving around the country I had quite a few teachers. My prior one was fantastic so I was sad to change. Rawson has been just as good. Both teachers highly customize my lessons. Rawson makes sure the music selections help me work toward my personal goals.
