Consulate of the Republic of Chile

I went there a few days ago to renew my passport. I was nicely surprised by the service. They were polite, and explained everything that was required. Before the appointment, they provided all the information I needed as well in a timely manner. Thank you Don Eduardo!

Horrible services.nWrong numbers provided , out of service or when you get thru no answer and no option to leave voice message.nI need to renew my passport ive called many times . One person answered me all rushed out , RUDE AND SPEAKING TO ME AS HOW DARE I BOTHER HIM. Not helpful AT ALL. Please do better. You guys are bums and think you’re all that for working at an embassy and do absolutely nothing to help Chilenos out here in Dc.

I had to renew my ID, and I wanted to do it in advance, I sent the email three weeks before what I wanted the schedule due date to be, which is what the website says to do. I don't live near D.C. and I can't even imagine what the people that have to fly over have to do, because I have to drive 4 hours to get there. These people didn't answer my email for 5 days, and didn't answer the phone. Which is understandable, but when you have to call for 30 min straight for one of them to answer the phone in an angry tone, it's very off putting and quite honestly put me in a worse mood than I already was in. I understand COVID-19 is a problem and being behind schedule is a possibility, but if you are behind schedule please put it in your website for people to know, especially for those people have schedule flights and visits that they have to plan in advance. Imagine I didn't call for 30 min and didn't leave 10 voicemails, then I would've never learned this information. As a Chilean citizen, I feel like the embassy has to do better since they are the image that the U.S. sees off Chile. The fact that this is an embassy that requires people to call and leave angry voicemails just to know some information that could be simply put in the website is honestly disappointing. This is a problem and it is putting a bad image on Chile's embassy and Chile as a whole. It is honestly so sad and disgusting that I even have to write a review about a freaking consulate when it is a service towards the people of that country. I suggest reading these reviews (although they might not because it honestly seem like they don't care) because this is a service and right towards people.nnUpdate: Its been 2 months and no response to the email regarding the renewal of my ID. They had told me to wait a month for a response, and I feel like I have been patient enough. I sent a passive aggressive email again today showing my disappointment with this government service.

Terrible service I need very important matter to take care off and they never pick up their phone or answer email. This is a direct reflection of an incompetent country.

We had try and try and this people do not help to get my passport renew. I do not know what do to any more. Is any body tell me what is going?
