Seylou Bakery

One of the few bakeries in DC selling proper bread. Bought my first bread here yesterday and if I'm paying 11dollars I expect my bread not to be burnt. Will go back and update my review if better next time.

We have been going here almost every week while in town. Love most of their breads specially horse and rye. Their croissants are really good. Some of their sweets are too sweet for me like their cookies and brownies. I wish they would come up with some seasonal items.nUpdatenWe have been to this bakery more than any other bakery. Last two stops we got the whole-wheat croissant that was filling. My husband always gets the chocolate croissant. It was denser than the plain and the chocolate was on the sweet side. The kale, cheddar croissant reminded me of spanokopita. The herb swirl was good. We also had the shiitake mushrooms with cauliflower cream pizza. At $28, a bit pricey but tasted pretty good. The crust a bit thick if you are concerned about carbs.

First time trying out Seylou Bakery and i really like it. Giving it a 4 just because i am a sweet tooth person and i was expecting a little bit more from their cookies(texture and flavor) but overall they are good at following social distancing ans being clean!

A DC treasure. Having lived in NY, SF, and Paris, this place is legit and holds its own. Mills their own grains and their breads and pastries are f*%#ing fantastic. Try the Einkorn, Birdbread, and tahini cookie. Also, kudos to making a divine vegan cake that’s tastier than the non vegan version. Unique and a must try- I’m now a regular.
