I bought a few guitars from Brent years ago when he had Acoustic Stringed Instruments in Hutchinson, Kansas. Brent was always extremely good taking care of my guitars when they needed to be worked on. Work was impeccable. The man takes pride in what he does. EXTREMELY knowledgeable. You get what you pay for!

Brent is such a great guy. Eureka is a funky town, definitely worth a visit but if there’s bad weather and no tourists, lots of shops will lock up for the day. So do yourself a favor and if you’re planning a visit, call ahead so you’ll know he’s open. I guess I disagree with the low ratings on here, because it’s not like the guy is performing some kind of mandatory public service. It’s his prerogative to keep his own hours. Plan ahead and you’ll be glad you made the trip.

I bought my first Ukulele from Brent in 2007, went back and bought another in 2008. That last one was a great starter into a love of playing Ukulele and it was thanks to the awesome set up and availability of this instrument in one of my favorite towns to visit (then as a tourist). Since then, that uke is now my daughter's, gave it to her in 2009 and she has surpassed my playing ability. I still play ukes and love them but my latest acquisition from Brent at Stringed Instrument Peddler was the Kala 6 string guitar that my wife gave me for my 48th birthday a few weeks ago, that I had fallen in love with at Brent's store. He helped her conspire to buy this without me knowing and it was surely a big and happy surprise! I love Brent's new location and his find selection. Yes, you will hear that the prices are high but if you take into account that he is not a big box store and can't get the discounts others get, he only selects the best quality instruments and sets them up, and he is there for you after the sale PLUS the fact that you have an instant memory built into the instrument you buy from him, that is came from Eureka Springs and a special little shop like his... well, it's worth whatever price tag he has on it! I love my Ukes and my new Kala!
