Avis Car Rental

Im a new customer and treat any customer like so. Having proper signage or a key drop box would help when nothing is open (office, return booth) and one is trying to catch their flight. When you already paid for your rental online, the transaction should be quick. I will go back to Enterprise.

Quick great service. Easy to book, pick up and drop off. Affordable prices, great cars.

Bad from the get-go. The line up is confusing. It is not clear that they are operating Avis and Budget as a singular rental agency. I was in the line for preferred customer thinking it was for Avis. When my turn came, the manager said it was for preferred and the line up for Budget and Avis is the same. Manager noticed me and could have mentioned it earlier instead of waiting for my turn. Wasted half an hour. The lady at the counter had an attitude not very friendly. I felt as if they gave out cars based on whether they like the customer or not. I fly in and rent cars frequently for work. Every time I got an intermediate SUV, it was equipped with navigation. However, the Mazda CX5 I got did not. The navigation was an option that Avis did not get with the vehicle. It only costs $475. When I called them to extend the rental, I mentioned that no navigation and they argued and talked back. Saying I don't get to tell them what option to purchase. You never talk to a customer like that regardless if I am wrong. Customer service 101 is not talking back if the customer is upset or frustrated. I don't even pay from my pocket but I will notify my company's travel agency never to go with Avis again.

After getting a flat tire on a very busy highway minutes after picking up the vehicle, I spent over an hour on the phone with Avis emergency roadside assistance on hold trying to find out what to do. I was transferred to the wrong number multiple times (to Avis in the US instead of Canada) and no one was able to help. When I finally spoke to someone they were unaffiliated with Avis and the connection was terrible due to the multiple transfers. I finally put the spare tire on and called the Avis desk at the Edmonton airport when I finally got to my destination. The employees I spoke to in Edmonton were very helpful and were able to switch out my vehicle the following morning The roadside assistance line needs much better training on what to do. I waisted a lot of time and was unnecessarily stressed over the whole ordeal.

The price was the best nobody can compare. The staff was very friendly. I am so happy to do business with AVIS.
