Translink HandyDART

Unfortunately they have stranded a woman with special needs and communication barriers several times so I have to make this review. Their driver leaves way before the scheduled ride time and I have had to book a separate taxi for a pickup. All of this results in major stress in both my day and this woman’s. What is the point in the ride booking if they will not adhere to their own schedule?

What a disorganized, unreliable company. A complete waste of time. Our pickup window was 2:10pm-2:40pm. I called them at 230- they said it's on its way. I called at 240-they said 5 more minutes. I called at 250, they put me on hold for like 5 mins then said -oh she (Bonnie) must've stopped to go to the bathroom, it'll be there in 5. By then it was 3pm. We ended up just going to the nearest bus stop-mom just got out of eye surgery and uses a walker.

My dad has been using Handydart for many years now. We have nothing but positive things to say about this service. We are so thankful for this service and the drivers are always so kind. The drivers go above and beyond in any weather condition to make sure the passengers are safe.

Staff at the call center are extremely busy, just think folks how many people use HD? can you guess? bet you don't know..then think of all the calls they are getting daily, now think of the numbers of buses that are available for the clients..all over the lower mainland. Why am i writing this because i have rarely seen many positive things said about this service. Or the people that have chosen to work with the community that uses this service. NOW i'm older and i can tell you that at one time WE DID'T HAVE THIS SERVICE..and we could not get around to appointments. I have traveled to other counties where there is no such service..so folks quit complaining and judging staff and be grateful we have this service here.. By the way this service is not threw out BC. And no i never worked for this company

Dispatch was extremely rude. I forgot to call ahead for a 5 pm ride and called first thing in the morning. I was told that I was on standby. I called later in the day and they just said no. Some people really rely on this service! So what would have cost me $6.00 round trip, ended up costing me $50 round trip by cab. This company needs to do better.
