TD Canada Trust Branch and ATM

TD has always been great to me and my business. When my other bank failed to help me in anyway...TD stepped up to the plate and went above and beyond what I expected. The branch staff are super nice and capable. As long as you aren't a complete "high horse, I deserve the world to bow to me in every way" kind of person they are really easy to deal with. I am very understanding when there is new staff in training, I think we have been in a new position where we didn't know everything at least once in our lives. When it comes to corporate banking, they are also extremely helpful. If I am busy and can't make it to the bank, during banking hours, they send a person to my place of business to do what needs to be done. My company isn't super small and also not really big, but weather it be my small personal account or my ~$4,000,000.00 corporate account I always have felt well taken care of. I am proud to call TD my bank and would highly recommend them.

We have banked with TD for a lot of years but I have to say the Teller customer service of the downtown branch is just appalling. I was there at lunchtime today and like most people we are in our lunch break so time is of the essence, I waited in a line up of only two people ahead of me but a steady stream behind me, there were only 2 Tellers working and the remaining staff including their manager were off to the side chatting and laughing, our line did not make a single move for 15 minutes, another gentleman behind me left the line up to take a seat and then when a teller became free he just skipped the line up, the teller was willing to serve him until we protested. Then suddenly the Manager opens a Teller spot herself and then another staff member also opens a Teller, when I approached the Manager to give my well intended advice she dismissed me with a "We do what what we can" and that was it, clearly she wasn't paying attention in training for her position as manager, if indeed she received any formal training at all. TD seems to have a fundamental lack of ability to do things that I would consider to be easy, such as properly processing a mailing address. I suspect that this may be due to a heavy reliance on foreign labor in (places like the Philippines), rather than jobs being filled by Canadians who have the common-sense to understand Canadian addresses. As an example, all of my mail goes to a PO Box and at one point a few years ago TD asked for my physical home address, which was fine, but then all mail from TD thereafter was made out to a conglomeration of my physical and mailing addresses, which are in two different towns! So the address was invalid and looked awful, although Canada post still managed to get it to my PO Box. I had brought this up a few times to tellers at my home branch who tried to fix it in your system, but the problem remained. Finally this last time I complained it may have been fixed—we will see… So anyways, I had called in to TD to deal with a couple small issues and this Philippino guy who was helping me offers me this credit card, which I end up accepting, and during the course of the discussion he explicitly agrees twice (and confirms) that the card will be sent to my PO Box, not my physical address (this house is located in an area where Canada Post does not have home delivery, so anything sent here ends up at a dead end). This customer-service rep may have been well-intentioned, but some idiot behind the scenes still ended up sending it to my physical address instead! We got to the bottom of the problem at my home branch, and I asked them to re-send the card to my proper mailing address. This would have been fine but they claimed that due to the “address change” it could not be done, or would take a month to process the change. Meanwhile there was no actual change in address, just a correction to their mistake—an inability to do what they said they would do. As a result I told them to shut down the account, which they did, but then TD Visa immediately re-opened another account for me and even offered to send it to my correct mailing address this time, so again we will see what happens with this…

Woefully understaffed and unable to assist their customers needs in a timely fashion. It is comon to come in on a Friday afternoon to see 12 or more customers waiting in line with only two frustrated looking cashiers. The staff never seems to have authority to do anything other than a basic deposit. It is normal for one transaction to take up to 10 minutes. If in Red Deer just drive to the Timberlands branch.
