Château Stanislas has a special history. In the 17th century, it is inhabited by Cardinal de Retz. But the current construction dates from 1708, the Count of Vaudémont then had a Baroque building erected on the remains of the medieval castle. From 1744, it became the property of the father-in-law of King Louis XV, former King of Poland, Stanislas Leszczynski. Then began a period of prosperity, this castle becomes a sumptuous hunting area. This period will be followed by a gradual dismantling after the death in 1766 of Stanislas Leszczynski. The 18th and 19th century will see it lose its magnificence, a fire destroyed most of it in 1944. The town bought it in 1957 and began a restoration which lasted 20 years. Today it is a place of reference and can be visited.
