Pont Flavien

Fabulous Roman bridge just sitting there begging for a visit. It is so delightful to randomly come across Roman bridges, arcs, fountains, and walls all over Provence. This bridge is in great shape. We particularly loved the ancient wagon ruts in the road’s rock slabs. Worth bringing a picnic and sitting by the water under the bridge.

Superb place that is worth the detour! If you don't know the area and are just passing through, why not stop and take some pictures?

Nice place with a path that runs along the river that passes below.

Roman bridge which has obviously been restored but that seems to be still in its juice .... The stone arches at both ends give a majestic appearance. We are quite impressed with the furrows left by the passage of carts. Visit free. Surprisingly little planning for showcase

Saint Chamas is a small town on the northern shores of Etang de Berre. Divided into two parts by a hill pierced by inhabited caves. It opens on one side with a pine forest on the hills, and on the other on a nice little marina. 17 km south of Salon de Provence. Saint Chamas has the remains of medieval walls, caves and is particularly known for the Roman bridge over the Touloubre River: the Flavian Bridge built by the Romans in the 1st century BC under the reign of Emperor Augustus.
