Superb Service In and Out in no time.

After having bought dozens of non running cars through BCA at all of their sites,i have just bought one that i believe was completely misdescribed as regards the issue with the car,i will take it on the chin and move on and learn not to rely on any sort of accuracy from their description in the future.

Alas It would seem that the good ship Kinross is slowly sinking. It has been my pleasure to attend the auctions in Kinross since their inception over 30 plus years ago now when they were under the Scottish Motor Auctions moniker. There's now a very marked difference with the British Car Auctions sign above the door. Gone are the many staff who used to "man" the office (it seems many of the familiar faces of the office and sales staff of last 5 or so years have just disappeared all at once) it is difficult to get to actually speak to anyone now. They all seem to be busy on the phones, dealing with the substantial numbers of queuing customers waiting to get served on a sale night or generally running about crazed. It should be mentioned that the staff do remain friendly, courteous when spoken to both in the office, halls and in the storage yards. The numbers of vehicles seem to also have reduced dramatically as well. Arnold Clark appear to have kept a strong presence but many of their vehicles appear to be quite cosmetically rough and many getting the dreaded shout of "engine management light on" from the rostrum as they pass by unsold. The lack of vehicles may also explain the lack of people in the hall on the night I was in. Having purchased cars under SMA I was shocked to find out how much more the private indemnity fees are now under BCA. I would make it very clear however that you should make sure you check what your going to be expecting to pay as the information is not forthcoming. I believe the new fees are sign posted around the site for you to check before purchasing. As always the restaurant staff are a pleasure but I was also surprised to see new faces in there as well with what looks like a professional "chef" now at the helm. The food is good but is also now a tad expensive compared to the old days.Overall I was saddened to see the standards slipping and it would be great to see the Kinross site raised back to its former glory. We can only hope it's fortunes turn around sooner rather than later.
