I visited the Walton branch of Robins & Day Citroen yesterday, I was really disappointed with the service I received. I bought my car from another Robins & Day branch last year and have used the Walton branch for service, parts replacement and MOT since then. I booked a minor service online a few weeks ago, I got an email with the booking request for 11am at a cost of £179. A day or two later I received a call confirming the appointment which I'd booked for 11am. Then a couple of days before the service appointment, I got a call from Robins & Day to confirm the 11am appointment. Yesterday, I went for my appointment at 11am, I arrived 15 minutes early for the appointment. Upon arrival, I waited to be served, I was acknowledged by one of the dealership staff behind the screen who asked if I had an appointment. I said I did, it was for 11am and gave my name. He said that they had no appointment for me at 11am, it was for 845am and I'd missed it, in what I'd describe as a condescending manner. I was directed to the colleague sat beside him who was a bit better mannered, but then he told me the service would cost £199. I got the email booking confirmation out which showed the price of £179, I explained that nobody had let me know that the price had changed. He explained there was a problem with the website and it was because I'd booked it online. It was raining heavily, my partner and 2 year old daughter were waiting outside the dealership, usually it's a quick in and out, hand over my keys and sign a piece of paper job, during these appointments. I wasn't expecting there to be problems. I think the colleague sensed that I wasn't very happy with the way things were going and he offered to change my appointment to another day and offer me a free courtesy car. Which I accepted. So, it was a wasted journey yesterday - driving to and from the dealership unnecessarily. My schedule is a bit hectic with work and with it being the run up to Christmas, after just coming out of another lockdown. Time is precious! When I got home, I checked on the Robins & Day Walton Citroen website, it was still showing the minor service cost as £179, so that was still the price they're advertising it at, weeks after I first booked the appointment. You can still book it online for £179 today! I think it's very concerning that a big brand like Robins & Day are running an operation like this and it reflects very badly on the management of the dealership. Is there something unscrupulous happening with the servicing costs at Robins & Day Walton Citroen, where they're marking up the price you've booked at and just hoping get away with it? I had a moment of deja vu yesterday. I remembered something else had happened previously at the dealership which I wasn't happy about. The same chap who was rude to me yesterday about the appointment time had tried something on with me before. I had my MOT done last year at Robins & Day Walton Citroen, on the health report they give you after the MOT. It said the front brake pads would probably need to be changed in a few months time. I started discussing making a booking with him for front brake pads, he jumped on the opportunity to try and upsell and get me to have the discs changed at the same time, which is significantly more expensive. At the time, my car had less than 20k miles on the clock. Brake discs are generally good for more than double that mileage and the health report didn't say they needed changing. I felt a bit unnerved because I realised what was happening and he was trying to take advantage, so I said I didn't want to book the car in for new brake pads. I got my brake pads done elsewhere after the bad experience at Robins & Day Walton Citroen. This year I had my MOT done at Robins & Day West-London, they didn't try to sell me brake discs. In fact when I asked about the brake discs, they said they should be good for another year! Which further eroded my trust in the guys at Robins & Day Citroen Walton. This review won't just be posted here, it will be forwarded on as a complaint to head office.

Really frustrating when you call the local dealer to speak to the parts department you get put through to a London branch that don't even answer there call. If this is a parts center you would expect more than 1 or 2 people to work here. So three calls holding on for over 8 min and then just to be cut off. REALLY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I would have understood the first time as we all can be busy but when it happens two more times after that. then i would start asking questions. My final though to anyone that reading this. CALL Charters Citroen of Aldershot THEY WILL HELP YOU WITH YOUR PARTS STRAIGHT AWAY WITH NO HOLD TIME AT ALL!!!!
