Most incompetent, indifferent outfit I have tried to buy from. If you want a wasted day with amateurs trying to spend money with them then this is the place for you. One minute they have a car next they don't but we just waste a day on you and not bother to call you! There are many professional outfits in Wales - this is the worst I have dealt with

Service was fantastic. I don't normally review, however, the service manager, Neil provided exceptional service. Having had little success with Citroen UK, he restored my faith in people doing what they say, going the extra mile when not their problem and putting the customer first and foremost. I would purchase a vehicle from anywhere he is employed as he is a true gentleman. I hope senior managers read this and reward him and his team accordingly. A real assett to your business and very lucky to have him. I will purchase/ continue business with Citroen thanks to him.

An awful experience. I purchased a vehicle over the phone after being told that the car in question was in perfect condition, the salesperson informed me that their cars go through many checks to insure they are in tip top condition. I travelled 4 hours to collect this vehicle, when I arrived I found the car to be scratched in multiple places, the wheels were extremely damaged & the car was not in the condition it had been sold to me in. The salesperson & the manager came out & informed me that this was common for a black car & some may buff out. I asked for a full refund. I didn’t even get a sorry or any compensation for my wasted day & travel expenses. This is not the way to treat customers Bassetts, shameful.

Purchased a used car in Aug 2019 from Bassett's Swansea. Within a day it developed a distinctive knocking noise. Car was returned immediately and the garage attempted to identify and repair but when I drove off the noise returned within 20 mins of driving. The car was returned a number of times over the following months after that, including for a period of more than one week, yet the problem was not rectified. I was advised to allow the problem to develop as they could not identify it and me being naive and initially trusting that the garage were being as helpful as possible left it for a further few months. Being aware that the noise was still present, yet my warranty was due to expire in August 2020, I took the car to Merthyr Citroen. They would not attempt to fix the car despite the Citroen used warranty, so I returned the car to Bassett's at the start of August 2020 (before the warranty expiration date) as the noise was still persistent and I remain concerned for the safety of the car. Bassett's stated that they identified and repaired a problem, however I have collected the car to find that the noise has returned after 20 mins of driving again. I spoke with the garage wanting to identify a solution so that I could have a fully functioning, safe car to drive, however I was advised that as the warranty has expired it would not be covered. I explained numerous times that the problem, stemming from last year, has not been fixed so it should be covered, yet I was repeatedly informed that the garage "had identified and repaired the problem", although they clearly have not. Despite me trying to explain and clarify that the same noise that was there when I purchased the car persists and that the garage had not in fact identified and repaired the problem that I had reported, the lady at the service department would not acknowledge this and continued repeating that the garage have "identified and repaired the problem". She advised that this is a separate issue and claim (I'm unsure as to whether she did not have an understanding, or, more likely, just did not want to acknowledge any fault for the garage to be liable). She also stated that they are unable to test drive the car for more than 10 mins to ensure that the problem has been resolved, but during their short test drives there was no noise. I repeated that this is one of a few times now that the noise has returned after a longer period of driving from the garage. I was then advised that I could contact the warranty company myself to discuss them covering a further claim myself, but that they would likely refuse as the warranty has expired. I will not be purchasing a car from Bassett's again, especially a used car as a car with a CITROEN APPROVED USED WARRANTY IS NOT WORTH HAVING. I will now be taking it to an independent garage to identify the problem. Terrible service overall and I am bitterly disappointed that I need to write a negative review. This is not what I anticipated when buying a car from a Citroen dealer.
