Kanchan Oil Industries Limited, is a medium scale industry situated at Jhargram, West Bengal, was (a sick unit) taken over in the year 1988 from Government of West Bengal(WBFC & UBI.) The plant is situated 0.5 Km away from Railway Station and 170 KM from Kolkata. Original activity of the company was extraction of oil through solvent process & refining. In the year 1995, the company extended its activity and started CPO refining & hydrogenation of Oil. The company is an ISO 9001-2000 certified organization and had been awarded by GLOBE OIL INDIA as emerging Company for the year 2007. Presently KOIL is ISO, Agmark and VOP Certified Company. It specializes in manufacturing of edible oil and fractionated oil. Votator has been installed for production of specialty products like Bakery Shortening and Margarine. This is the first large scale industry in Jhar gram.At the beginning they used to produce non edible oil.At present they are producingnVanaspati oil and some other items.
