Customs container scanner facility

The Containers selected for scanning shall be taken for scanning as per thenexisting procedures in force and if found during scanning, LEO shall be given. ifnthe containers are found otherwise, then those containers shall be taken to thendesignated T.Shed for thorough examination and for appropriate action.nThe Custodian M/s VOC Port Trust shall provide all facilities in the designatednarea for the verification of container No and seal by Customs Officer. If Shipping Billnis selected for open examination, based on the request from the customs, thencustodian has to facilitate open examination of the said container. Wheneverndemanded, the Custodian shall provide all necessary infrastructure facilities ,so that every cotainer scaned here

The X- Ray container scanner can scan about 10-12 containers per hour.The nine mega-electron volt scanner can penetrate up to 400 millimetres of solid steel in cargo containers.
