Carrara Marble Tour

Unique experience. The off-road ride is much fun, the view from the top is breath-taking, the guides are entertaining. However, from the information of the lady at the cash-desk I had very little idea what to expect. I expected more stops throughout the quarry. In fact you get the ride up, one stop and the ride down.

We had a great time with 2 families of 5 persons. The guides (Philippe and Matti) are funny are adapt to the public the speak to. So also great for kids, they had a great experience. So worth every euro ...

Not expensive and totally worth the visit. They take you on a “jeep” for 5 minutes up to the top of the mountain, where the tour guides explain the process of extraction, logistics, and every single aspect of the marble. Make sure you ask for Mattia to give you the tour, classic charismatic Italian.

This is the wrong location tag - followed it and ended in the middle of nowhere and drove around for another half hour before we finally found the place. To get to Carrara Marble Tour, use the location for the Cave Museum (Cava-Museo). Because we arrived late due to wrong location tag, we ended up taking the Marble Cave tour instead, which is just next door and is a tour of an indoor quarry. It was an interesting tour.

What an amazing experience. A must do.
