A simple but interesting exhibit. The underwater tunnel was very cool. Though I believe the museum is more for children. Still was good fun.

Echizengani Museum : Echizen Crab Museum 越前ガニミュージアム Echizen Crab Museum is located right across the road from Road Station of Echizen Coast. In this museum you can see a large variety of marine creatures live in this area. Each show room has its own theme built in a property space of 300 square meters. The facility was built in 2016. You are also able to enjoy hands on trial of operating a ship for hunting crabs. Admission fee is 500 yen for adults and 300 yen for children. When you just entered the course there is a ramp way spiraling down the hall with a miniature of traditional townscape of Echizen Coast where fishermen live. The ramp way leads you all the way into the depth of the ocean bed where Echizen crabs live at the bottom. ( TGM Japan Guide : Trans-word+ )

I went to play with my children (3 years old, 1 year old) After all it is a feeling for adults, so the reaction of the children was not good. Basically, it feels like a crab and crab fishing museum, with a plus α aquarium for sea fish and crabs. The ship simulator is quite elaborate, To be honest, it is too severe and difficult even for adults. The AR-like game in the last corner was a little fun even for small children. Generally not recommended for families with children Is it good to take a look at the meal? It's like that.

Echizengani Museum Visited on weekdays in October 2020 Admission is 500 yen for adults, 300 yen for children (with group discount), and payment is cash only. It's easy to access because it's next to Echizen Road Station. After paying the admission fee, the route is to climb the 3rd floor by elevator and go around in the order of 3rd floor → 2nd floor → 1st floor. The 3rd floor is a space where crabs are explained. I was ashamed to think that there was a kind of crab called Echizen crab, but it seems that the snow crab that I got in Echizen is called Echizen crab. The space is not large, so you can see it quickly. The 2nd floor was mainly explained about fishing I was impressed by the attitude of trying to balance catching crabs and protecting the natural environment. The 1st floor is quite spectacular An aquarium-like aquarium with various crabs and various fish in the actual aquarium A theater where a video full of information about crabs is broadcast A space where you can actually touch starfish and crabs A booth where you can play mini games about crabs, an exhibition of crab collections for individuals, an introduction to crabs outside Japan, etc ... It was a very satisfying and dense lineup Also, this is also an embarrassing story, but I did not know that Japan was trading with North Korea, and I unexpectedly gained new knowledge (it seems that trade in marine products and agricultural products is flourishing). I am very happy to be able to acquire not only crabs but also peripheral knowledge! it's recommended!
