I used to highly recommend La Paz, since being originally from Cabo San Lucas, La Paz always seemed more comforting. But last week my husband went to spend some days off there, and in his stay he was a victim of police brutality by the state, The excuse they made was because of how you look and because you have a "Chilango" accent he was staying in a Downtown hotel, the general comment was; who could think of walking in the center at that time (he was 3 blocks from the boardwalk), I had to justify his stay in La Paz are tests to be deigned to release it, because being from Puebla nothing had to do in his city according to the judge and the police Investinvestigating already came to light that there are many cases of abuse by the state towards people who look chilangos or consider filthy. It was a terrifying experience, and the opinion is a Common modus opera, even proportion electroshocks. I really do not recommend national tourism to go to La Paz, due to the great discrimination. We will never vacation again in La Paz.
