Very strange setup at this port. You need to walk a long way just to exit the port and get a taxi. They have golf cart shuttles but not very many and you end up waiting quite some time to get one. I didn’t find the people to be nearly and warm, welcoming and friendly as other ports/towns in Mexico. Also, be very careful at the taxi stand, I man tried to offer me a taxi but then was trying to lead me away from the main taxi stand area.

Docked at this Cruise Terminal while on a 7 day Mexican Cruise with Princess. They are currently enlarging and remodeling the terminal and adding additional shop spaces. There are a number of shops and stores selling the usual tourist goods. I would recommend buying tourist items in downtown Puerto Vallarta where the quality, selection and prices are much better. There is a shop which sells chocolates and gives free samples. There are taxis available at the exit of the terminal. If you plan on using a taxi exit the terminal area and flag one down on the street as it will be much cheaper. On average we save at least 50 %. Make sure and negotiate your fare Before getting in the cab.

Simply beautiful! We took an excursion and it was so well organized! The locals were not as friendly a other parts of Mexico, but the tour guides were super nice and Puerto Vallarta is absolutely beautiful! I wish i had better photos to share, but i haven't yet received them. I only stayed the day, but what a fantastic, fantastic experience! Seriously.

Since we were here last year, the port facility started construction and is in the midst of being upgraded. The new buildings look like they will be 3 to 4 times larger than the current building, open and airy. The current facility is clean and the security staff to get you back on board is efficient and polite. For those who don't want to go into the beautiful city, there's gift shops, bars, a pharmacy and back/foot massage. There are also tours available (not ship sponsored)
