Firefly Merida Airport

It's a scam, they quote a low ish price for vehicle but when you arrive they nail you with insurance costs. For example online quoted 13k pesos for vehicle but at counter quoted another 40k with insurance. A scam, monopoly theft. I took an Uber and found outise airport a better price deal.

Reserved a car with firefly online 2 months in advance. When I arrived at the airport in Merida, the firefly rep was not there and when I asked other car rental people if they knew the rep, they laughed and said the firefly rep wasnt coming because they did not have any cars. One of the Alamo reps called firefly for him to come to the airport for me, when he arrived, all he said was "sorry but we don't have any cars". Being the Christmas holidays, most car rental places did not have any cars left and I ended up having to pay triple what i had reserved the firefly car for. never again with firefly!!! stick with the higher end car rental agencies to avoid problems, even if they are more expensive. Unfortunately i have to give 1 star but they don't even deserve that!!!

It’s a shame renting a car with this company , honestly they are really out of his mind when asked me to deposit the value of the rented car, how come? , Shame on you firefly! I made my reservations by Expedia and confirmed an SUV car and they wanted to give a lower level of car , don’t make a deal with this company like a Mexican I’m really disappointed

Although there was an annoying issue with the reservation I had a great guy solve everything in the best way possible. My greatests compliments for Edwin.

Worst experience ever!!!! Their office is in a shack about 1500 m outside of the Terminal. No Shuttle provided, no information where to find them. Good luck if you don't speak Spanish. No cars available at all! Small "Office" full of angry customers. Stuff not capable to handle the situation. Firefly you are officially on my blacklist NEVER AGAIN
