Holiday Inn Villahermosa Aeropuerto

We were driving though the area on the way to Yucatan with our cats and needed a pet friendly hotel to spend the night. I chose this Holiday Inn since it seemed to be in a quiet/safe area and we wouldn't have to worry about leaving all our stuff in our van. Our room was very nice with a comfortable bed, large screen TV with a few channels in English. and in the bathroom, an incredible shower that could probably fit four people! The hotel restaurant is good but a little pricey. The breakfast buffet was incredible - probably the best breakfast buffet I've had. I'd definitely stay here again

You known there's somthing wrong when you leave more tired then when you arrive. We use this hotel on a regular basis. It used to be a Hilton Hotel and they had no trouble making sure we were looked after however, this new administration has a lot to learn. Upon check-in, I asked for a room at the back of the hotel to avoid the noise from the motorway only to be told that they are unable to change rooms. Trust me, you DO NOT want a room facing the road. These sort of things weren't an issue when this was a Hilton. I cant believe how Apathetic the staff is. Around 8am, the "handyman", with his extremely loud radio starts repairing a light bulb outside my bedroom making enough noise to make sure the entire hotel knows he is there. Imagine the combination of trucks and cars from the motorway and the extremely urgent light bulb replacement between 7 and 8am. You might think that this is a "one-off" but it actually happens more often then you'd expect.

Hotel is very very good. Food is delicious with great choice. Surrounding is quite silent, any shops or attractions are quite a distance away. Wall Mart is approx. 15 minutes by Taxi. Jungle Safaris is possible, pick up from the hotel but expensive. 180 US dollar each for 8 hours car + driver / guide.

Spacious and clean room. Free shuttle from the airport. But food and breakfast were below average.

Hotel is as you would expect a holiday inn to be. Staff are amazing , realy helpful
