easy enter low threshold appliances shop

I asked for opening an anti-slip mat pack to one of the shop attendants (boy) just to calculate if this will fit in my bath. The bag was of easy open and close buttons. He rudely denied it and when I asked why I am not allowed to check the product and complained for his lack of help he plainly said...go to another shop! The worst part is that I expressed my concern to the desk Assistant and she, instead of correcting his behaviour, she kept defending his actions. Is this the normal customer service in Holland or is it Blokker mentality?

"ARE YOU GETTING OUT ?!" Suddenly it sounded behind me when I searched for the cleaning products. It sounded more like he wanted to let me know he caught me red-handed than he actually wanted to help me. I try to keep the situation light by answering, "yes, stairs down, right?" But he also left immediately. This man was not at all out to help me. It was only when I walked out the door of the Blokker that I realized that I have rarely been approached so rudely.

Not treated very friendly by a staff member. Not helpful at all. I felt like I was too much.
