Wow, tough reviews here for this Etos on Bilderdijkstraat. I have three Etos stores within nearly the same distance from my apartment but this is the one I prefer to shop. Of course, the others are pretty nice too, but this one is larger, more open and (in Corona-times) safer. It did take a few months for the staff to get used to me since I'm an American still struggling with the Dutch language. But I appreciate their consistency and they do seem to care about me. Plus, this is the store I went to when the Covid crisis started. They were cleaned out, but were very pleasant and restocked quickly! They have such great prices too. You can order online and have it sent to the store for easy pickup!

I recently visited the shop on my trip. I purchased some make up which was on sale (2 for 1); however, I did not see the offer until the next day when I returned to purchase some more things. The same person waited on me. The previous day she told me that the store wanted to protect the environment and if I did not need a receipt she would help protect the environment by not printing it. When I asked about the 2/1 offer, she remembered my purchase but would not honor the sale because I did not have a receipt. Many stores around the world offer not to print a paper receipt but they send it electronically if they require receipts to resolve issues like these. The fact that I returned to spend more money in the store should have been worth something to the staff, but they clearly do not give a whit about their customers. The staff was unfriendly and this maneuver felt very dishonest and disrespectful of people who value the brand. I will be looking for another place to spend my money.

Always a long queue while there are few customers. The employee with the glasses is very unfriendly, do not keep a distance of 1.5 meters to show that she is watching you, but she will go wild if you do not pick up a shopping basket. Plus always follows me in the store looking at the volume of my bag to estimate if I stole something after I checkout, but my girlfriend with stroller and full bags gets a whole different treatment. I will never come here again !!

Horrible customer unfriendly business manager! She didn't want to take back my article from another Etos. I just had to go there to trade. After much hassle she wanted to trade it to get rid of it. She didn't want to give my money back. Very unpleasant experience. You don't deal with customers that way! Finally got my money back, but they are a poorer customer!
