We reached out to their showroom in Amsterdam and were amazed with wide range of designs and quality showcased there. we got a good explanation on various sizes, materials that are possible and their cost differences. Most useful was PACKAGES for whole living room with same and contrasting designs. This has helped us make quick decision. Overall the experience was awesome and we got what we were looking for.
A lot of lies and lack of transparency.
We ordered a couch here, the salesman apparently did his job really good, he gave us a delivery time that was not true: "up to 14 weeks but most likely it will be less" so we accepted.
Basically when you sign a purchase agreement with them you have no more rights, you have to accept everything they say and they decide, even if they have a problem, that will be on you.
After 14 weeks of waiting and many calls in between where we have always been receiving the same answer over and over: "in 2/3 weeks it will be here".
So when we decided to cancel, even knowing there is penalty fee, they came out with the truth,"We have problems with the manufacturer, the couch won't be here before October", that will make 19 weeks or more, but even there when A-Meubel is failing on his end of the agreement you have no rights to cancel it or ask for compensation.
You just have to pay.
This company is scammy joke.
LESSONS LEARNED:
-Salesmen are good, but in order to sell, they don't tell you the truth.
-There is a total lack of transparency on the status of your order.
-They have good stuff but, if and when you will receive them is a mistery.
-If they have a problem, you will pay the price.
Think good about it if you want to buy a sofa from them, 30 july I ordered a sofa in their showroom. The seller was very nice and he helped me to choose a very nice sofa. When I was signing the contract, he said I will receive my order in SEPTEMBER (maximum 6 weeks). Today, 17 Sep, I called the contact service to see whats going on with my order. First she said I don't have a camera in the factory so I can't say if they start with making it or not but we still have time (I found her answer rude, because I wanted to cancel my order incase that they didn't start yet) and she said, it is mentioned in the contract that delivery time is between 10 and 16 weeks. I asked for cancellation and she said you have to pay 30 percent of the total amount ( 300 euro). And she also mentioned that even if they don't deliver the sofa less than 16 weeks again it mentions in the contract that they still can add 4 weeks. So, 20 weeks I have to wait and after that, I am not sure if I can cancel my order or not. I also asked to receive an email about the last update, but she refused to do it. They hide behind the Corona, lies a lot in the beginning. I am not happy about choosing them. This is the weak point of the company if the costumer has no chance to cancel his order. No rights for us in this company.
Terrible experience. I ordered some furnitures 17 weeks ago and I still need to wait 4 weeks until the table arrives.
I asked to let the chairs to be delivered in the meanwhile and the delivery guys left a bench of 155 meter for 38 kg downstairs, claiming it won’t fit in the elevator and left it there.
Me, 52 kg for 158 cm tall, I managed to put the bench in the elevator (2 days ago I fitted a 200 cm wooden table of 100 kg, so I think it would have fit).
Still paid the delivery, and they don’t want to give the money back for delivery or for the delay for the table.
Terrible service, terrible people, do not buy here.
We ordered a couch on 4th of June in the shop in Amsterdam and we were informed about a delivery time of about 8 weeks, up to 14 (due to Corona). From all the negative reviews i am reading, at that point the situation was pretty clear to them, yet they willingly decided to hide the truth to trick you into purchasing the items.
After 14 weeks and lots of energy spent in calling them they give you the same answer all over "we expect the couch to arrive in other 3 weeks".
We are now left with no other options than cancel our order knowing that we will have to accept a 30% penalty fee because after being told at least 3 times the same story of the 3 weeks delay we lost our hopes.
You may think that when at fault a serious company will take responsibility and offer you at least some compensation for the damage, but not a company like A-Meubel. They can only slam on your face their rights and give you no options than pay and accept. Hiding behind the Corona crisis is not an excuse to treat a customer this way and shouldn't be used to make money. However, nowadays there is nothing worse for your business than a bad online reputation, so considering the great amount of negatives reviews for their attitude, is only their loss.
To sum up our "great" experience with A-Meubel: we spent 14 weeks without a couch, spent lot of energies in dealing with the customer service, in the end we had to buy a new couch last minute and cherry on top we will lose to them at least 300 euro.
Signing an agreement with them will leave you completely helpless, so our best advice for you is CHOOSE A CUSTOMER-CENTERED COMPANY to furnish your home.
