Thrift Rataplan Haarlem Zijlstraat

I was a customer, not anymore. I bought 4 photo frames and only realized one of them was broken after I paid. They gave me the money back only after I insisted, unwillingly though. I also only realized one of them was not a photo frame, but a white board with a frame. I was still inside the store when I told the staff the item was misplaced and among the photo frames, so I did not realize it (the place is not very light). I said I didn't even need money back, they could give me a voucher that I would go back to choose something else. The "manager" said no. I left the item there as it is of no use at all to me. They gained 2,75 euro extra and lost a customer. Staff treat you as if they are doing you a favor (only one tall blond lady is friendly, the rest treat you like sh*t). Zolder023 is much nicer, all the staff is very friendly and prices are much better.

Too expensive for a thrift store. Some of the items are really unreasonably priced. I feel the employees play a game with you if there isn’t a price tag on an item and try to sell it for an exorbitant price. Unfortunately this is the case with most thrift stores in or around larger cities. For thrift store hunting I’d rather go to Noppes (Alkmaar/Beverwijk) or Mutahara in Castricum.
