Attentive and friendly service. Good specials. Food and Drink prices are reasonable as well. Quintessential local bar atmosphere.

First tavern I had a drink. Thankfully I was there with friends because I was barely of legal age. I had no idea what what bars were all about. The friendly bartender and patrons set my mind at ease. Many many years later I continue to enjoy the Checkerboard Tavern! I enjoy the stopping in for my favorite brew and catching up with friends.

They have a good web sight also. I got the catfish nuggets with slaw. They were good. Fast friendly service. Easy to get to right on Kausouth st . Parking on the side and back. Seats are comfortable, place is roomey and clean. Not expensive to eat there.

Great atmosphere. Even better staff. Checkerboards has not seen the last of me!
