Memorial Hospital

I do a lot of reviews and I am giving Beacon Memorial Hospital of South Bend a 10 star review. I have never been taken care of so well at any hospital. My husband and I both have cancer and we could not have had better Surgeons. Dr. Thomas was my breast cancer surgeon and he was very caring, compassionate and took the time before and after surgery to explain everything. The breast center was very loving and caring. Every staff member I have met has treated me like family, even though my upcoming continuous care, I know I am in good hands and My husband and I would not go to any other hospital in our area. Dr. Blickensderfer was my Husbands surgeon, also extremely skillful, caring and made us feel like family. My Heart is full of gratitude for your wonderful staff and hospital. Number 1 and 100 % in great healthcare. Thank you and God bless you all for all your hard work, skillful hands and loving hearts. Terry S. and Thomas S.

I’d like to say Dr Anthony Vida is an amazing doctor and human. My kid got admitted last week and he did not stop until he got everything under control. He ran every dang test, CTs and MRIs to help my kid out and get her better. He explained what was going on and why he was doing what he was doing, I’ve never came across a doctor like him. Thanks to him and the amazing nurses at Memorial Hospital my child is now on the mend. Dr Vida didn’t say oh it’s just this and gave her antibiotics and let her go, he kept her and made sure she was going to be okay, I’ll say he has solidified the fact she is going to be a doctor one day. As for the nurses, well a parent can’t ask for a better crew, they were so attentive and patient with my child and me in making sure I understood the why, and the transport team, same they were nothing less than professional every step of the way. Maybe it was cause one of their parents was a Marine like me and she took good care of my child, but hats off to the transport team. Memorial Hospital you guys and gals are nothing less than amazing, and Dr Vida good sir thank you for taking such good care of my baby. I think I’ll nickname you Dr House, because you sir did everything in the book and out of the book to get my child better. So for that i say cheers good sir.

My mother is lapsing into dementia and the hospital keeps sending her home to an unsafe environment despite their own policies. She has dislocated her hip over 12 times in the last 5 months, had one minor heartattack and they STILL keep sending her home.nnIf you want your loved one to die at home send them to Memorial. They don't care anymore.

My sister in laws very intrusive and very difficult surgery on her spine was performed here last Tuesday. Neuro-Surgeon did a fantastic job on her spine. Aftercare was horrific, woman nurse on the 8th floor was terrible, was not gentle on her at all and even made her spine seize up. My sister in law is the most nice and caring person I know and for a nurse to treat someone like this is just sad and sick...unfortunately I do not have her name, anyways thankfully after many complaints a hospital supervisor was able to switch her nurse to the man nurse and he was much better. Too bad she couldn’t just have her surgery done here and then switched to another hospital for after care. This hospital should be embarrassed for the way the staff handled this over all situation.
