Kindred Hospital Northwest Indiana

I've taken my daughters here twice now and I would recommend this location to others. Both times we got checked in and called back quickly. The nurses and providers we saw were very friendly and knowledgeable. The radiologist was also very patient with my 20-month-old who wanted nothing to do with a chest X-ray.

The midwifery was absolutely amazing. They rotate on-call, so they encourage seeing all of the midwives during your pregnancy. All of them took such amazing care of me, listened diligently to all of my concerns, and made sure I was well informed.

My husband was at Kindred for about 5 weeks before being transferred to acute rehab. Our overall experience there was positive. There were a few issues that popped up but management was very receptive to feedback and quickly made things right. They welcomed visitors (depending on the current covid policy) and communicated with me via facetime when visits were restricted. Food and TV (antenna only) options were much to be desired though (why the four star rating).

Kindred was a great place for my daughter to go to recover . She was well taken care of and the staff was very warm and friendly. The facility was clean and very accommodating. We really appreciate how well she was treated and we would highly recommend this place for anyone that needs to recover and get better.

My mom was admitted to Kindred. She was there for about a month and half. The part that didn’t sit well with me was the communication with the nursing staff. Some things weren’t communicated to me. I’m not going to say all the nurses that took care of my mom. But some of them. When I called days at a time and she had the same nurse I would never get a call back. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve talked to one of her nurses when I actually called.the ones that did communicate I appreciate them. I do totally understand that they are busy. And I do know that at some point they have down time. Overall besides that everyone else was great with taking care of my Mom. From therapy to respiratory and the ones in the office behind the scene they were very helpful. Saving the best for last! Lena was Amazing! Lena was in charge of the video visits. From day one she has been patient and caring with my family and I. I was comfortable with her and she made me feel comfortable with her. If she was out and missed a video visit she would call the next day to still set up a visit. It was something that really helped us especially my mom get through the days. So I’m very appreciative of her for that. My mom did say that everyone treated her pretty good for the most part. So thank you to the kindred staff.
