Pyramid Taproom at Schonely's Place

I had great service and good food. Sat right away by friendly hostess and then received service right away. My favorite is the Schonely’s pub burger with a side of their tasty house ranch ( ranch connoisseur) for the house fries.

Great restaurant for getting in the Rip City spirit—and the burgers/fries ain’t bad either.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at this location. We have eaten at the Taproom many times but this last time was horrible. We got there about an hr and a half before tip off and we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. Once seated we were told that the kitchen was taking about 35-45 minutes to get food out. We figured we would have enough time so we decided to stay. We ordered right away and waited out 45 minutes. 55 minutes rolled around and our food still hadn't come. Our server told us it was coming up very shortly. We asked if we could get our bill and some boxes so that we could just take it to our seats so we didn't miss introductions and tip off. He brought us boxes and said he would be getting our food. About 10 minutes later he came back and said that somehow the kitchen never received our order and that the food wasn't coming. By then we had about 5 minutes to get to our seats. We were very disappointed and ended up having to get something at concessions. Like I said we have been here many many times in the past but I don't think we will be going back anytime soon.

Worst pre-game experience ever. We arrived an hour and a half before the Blazers game to give us time to enjoy a meal and wander around a bit before the game. It took about 20 minutes to be seated, but that still left us over an hour which should have been ample time. This is a sports venue restaurant - surely they understand there will be a rush, but they need to move the customers through to ensure they can catch the opening tip off. After placing our order we were informed that the kitchen was a little backed up and it would probably be about 30 minutes before our meals arrived. Hmm, now we're starting to get closer than we would have liked, but that still left over half an hour. After waiting for 50 minutes and asking the waitress every time she passed, we were finally informed that the kitchen was severely backed up and it would be another 20-30 minutes before our food arrived. That would put is into the 2nd quarter of the game so we had no choice but to leave. Of course, now we were 10 minutes from tip off and had to settle for concession food. My advice is to completely skip trying any pre-game meal at the Moda center and instead go to a nearby restaurant after securing a parking spot.The way the Pyramid Taproom was operating it seemed like their first Blazers game. Simply unbelievable for a sports venue restaurant to be so woefully unprepared and unorganized on a game night.
